The “Read” mark in chatroom indicates that someone has read your message and the number displayed beside the “Read” mark in group chats shows how many people have read you message. In buddy chat, since there are only you and your buddy, there will be no number displayed beside “Read”.

Note: The time shown below the “Read” mark is the time you sent the message but not the time the recipients read it.
